I needed a hoop for my steering wheel on the original column for my 28 chevy. And had this old bar stool. well with a little grinding and welding problem solved...John

Gonna try to get most of the chrome off of it, and paint it black. I got some aged black leather that I might try to cover it with...John

    Clever.

I have always wanted to make a steering wheel from scratch and wondered how to bend up a hoop. This is a prefect solution.

    Good thinkin, turned out great.

Thanks guys. Most everyone that has seen it thinks it's the best part of my car. Another couple of pics of the original 28 chevy column and my bar stool hoop installed in the car...John

Dont feel bad it served it's purpose. I think it's the ultimate form of recycling. there are other parts of my car from a 38 dodge truck. And if my tool box dont do what it's told. Well you know what I mean. Who says car guys can't be green and still drive hot rods...John

ghost it looks good, but I don't know about being the best thing on it. The whole car is killer. you are the man, keep at it and you will be on the road soon. wish the coupe was as far along.
