Was wondering if anyone could recommend a HAMBer friendly muffler shop in the San Fernando Valley. Got a quote for $400 from a guy in Northridge for my '54 Ford Mainline. Mind you, I am supplying the mufflers and tips which are already in my possesion.

Ive heard lots of good things about Morse Mufflers and they do good work from what ive seen, but they might be out of your price range. Did you try Magic Mufflers? I know a place on the corner of Victory & Sylmar St. in Van Nuys just one one block east of Van Nuys Blvd. that does work for cheap. They were called ultra Muffler I think theyve changed their name since ive last been there. If what they quote you is too high, you can always try to negotiate with the owner especially since you have your own mufflers. He's usually pretty cool about it. Theyre work isnt the best, but it definately isnt the worst either. Unfortunately I dont think theyre HAMB friendly, but it shouldnt be a problem.

Try Championship Muffler in Simi Valley...ask for Jeff. If he's no longer doing the work, disregard this post. Jeff is/was the owner and is a real craftsman. Has done several systems for me over the years, all were excellent...and I'm picky. Good luck.

Gil's is the place that I got the 4 bill quote from. I am not bitching about the price, I was just trying to get some recommendations so I can be a good consumer. Thanks for all the good leads, will be making some calls today for sure.

Gils is the place to go. Sometimes a little pricie but, excellent quality work. I live around the corner and there are hot rods there every day being worked on.
