Didn't Comp Cams come out with a series of cams that duplicated the old muscle car grinds, just a few years back? Try them!

Realistically, unless you're doing a full-on resto of a DZ302 and just gotta have an OEM cam, you're leaving power on the table.

Are you seeking the 30/30 for idle chop, or horsepower, or nostalgia? Is is going in an actual 302, because you'd need to scale it up if it's going in a 350 and you want the same idle.

Hope this helps and doesn't just repeat what you know.

Good luck, big cams are where it's at!!

(PS- many popular old grinds are currently available from manufacturers like TRW, and usually have generic type prices)

Im running the Comp Cams Nostalgia 30-30H+ cam in my 327. Part #12-672-4. It is a hydraulic so it isnt the high winder the solid was. For what I use my car for I like it.

Back in 1965 I had one of these in a 283 + .060. Pop up pistons and radically reworked 56 power pack heads. All in a 61 Vette, four speed, 4:11 rear. Took it to Green Valley and ran a best of 13.08 at 114. Wasn't bad for 292 cubes and still drove it on the street.
