A friend and myelf are in the area for a few days, and wondering if there are any cruise nights, shows, events going on. Any advice is appreciated!
Bump! Nothing going on anywhere in the area this weekend? Guess a trip down south to Pomona may be in order.
there's a little show in Fremont. "Hot August Niles" ... Niles is a cool little part of Fremont with a bunch of old houses and buidings from the early 1900's. couple antique stores and bars along the main drag. that's Saturday. I'm guessing there is 100 cars there of all types. they block the street and line them up on both sides. not the most exciting show.. but something to do. Fremont is about 20-30 minutes North of San Jose. the show is on Niles Blvd. oh... one more thing probably more interesting than the show itself is Don's Antique Auto parts. he's on Niles Blvd also. he's an old parts guy with a shop packed to the rafters with old stuff. been in the same location since the 60's. he's quite a character.
Everything car wise is going on in Monterey right now. If you are a "carguy" and not hung up on brands or money there is a little bit of everything for everyone. I was at the auction site hotels yesterday and saw Tony Nancys dragsters up for auction, along with the Deora, the Road agent, and Gas Rhondas funny car along with the usual Rolls, Deusenburgs, Ferraris and others.
If you want to travel about an hour north to Napa, there is a car show Saturday 15th downtown, usually has around 400 cars of all types 10am-4pm,the local town&country fair is going on and sat. night is the demolition derby, plus there is the annual last cruise of summer on jefferson st. sat night also. Hot August Niles in Fremont in Histroic downtown Niles District all day Saturday, well from 9AM-3PM anyway..
a little get together at the napa auto parts store (paul 925-634-3952) in the eastbay..brentwood on saturday and on thursday nights in old town pittsburg also in the eastbay....

Looks like we are going to be floating around until at least Tuesday, so again, I appreciate all the feedback! I want to that Alex Gambino for the grand tour and the hospitality as well! Tell me a little more about the Napa deal please.
O.K. ,Napa has the Main street reunion car show downtown tomorrow from 10am-3pm, and the fair is just across the river on 3rd.st the demolition derby starts 6:30pm, Matt is kinda right about the cops shutting down the cruise (last year they shut it down about 9:30 or 10pm) Brian.
