Are there commercially available motor mounts and bushings for a flathead (59A) to a Model A frame?

This is just one of 150 questions I have about this project, but you gotta start somewhere!

I got mine from chassis engineering. I bought them a little long and just trimmed to fit and welded up. I also used them to make mid mounts for the tranny (700 R4), it worked out pretty good.

I think those Chassis Engineering ones are about like the traditional Hurst A-28 frame mount everyone used in the fifties and sixties...this piece is a commercial version of the ones shown in "The Book", except with a flange for bolt-on fitting. They fit '28-32 frames and convert to 59A style mounts and cushions.

Here's the mounts the author, Vern Tardel, of "The Book" manufactures.

Yes! Don't have a part or picture here to compare, but I think those are just about like the old A-28 from Hurst's modular mount systems.

Make your own from .120 2x3 box tubing. Just look at the picture above and replicate it. Looks pretty simple.
Get the biscuits from Speedway or one of the Alliance vendors.:D

I assume, since I can't see the pictures, they are referring to "How to build a traditional ford hot rod" by Mike Bishop and Vern Tardel. Very, and I mean very informative and helpful book, one of those must have types.

  14. Bringing this back up because I have a question about the insulators. Bought the insulators from Speedway, they come with a large 4" flat washer for under the "biscuit". Do I use this washer? Im thinkin not...

As far as the cushions go I have tried them all, the Chassis Engineering ones have worked the best for me. They don't collapse and if you need raise the engine height, simply add a spacer and replace the bolt as it is a standard 7/16 bolt.
