A few more Pile Up '04 pics

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Peter Pan of Chicago, Oct 17, 2004.

  1. Well guys 'n gals, some of my Pile Up pics are in and I wanted to share some with ya.

As you all know it was a amazing show. Many, many rides and people. I was armed with 20 rolls of Kodak and only shot 9 or 10. There were just too many cool people to talk too and see.

My goal was to shoot all the cars I liked and as many people I could meet. I also wanted to shoot all the pinstriping I could and all the car club logos on shirts and jackets I could. Plus get all the cool "detail" shots I could.

    I failed miserably. [IMG]

Alot was said about about "the Line" to get in. I gotta to say the Chrome Czars are serious about their show and it was a very impressive site to behold. I was inside when the cars started to enter and spent 2 & 1/2 hours of well spent time capturing what I could as the cars rolled by.

Here are about 10 shots to start off with. I will have a few more Pile Up posts through out next week. I think you will find these shots interesting, I did. [IMG]

First up the notorious "Criteria" sign. Here Cpt. Fancypants and a lovely staff member, man the barricades.

  10. Here is my "Money Shot" for this post.

It shows my two favorite HAMBr's cruising in the "Voodo Child". Here I think Denise sees someone she knows right behind me. [IMG] Her face pretty much sums up what kind of person she is and how she treats all of us.

Now check out Rudy. He has got the coolest "Cruising Stance" I've seen in a long time. Ya gotta luv 'em. [IMG]

....not to mention look how straight that short is!

  11. Lastly, here is a neat little roadster that's parked outside the festivities and I don't know why! [IMG] It belonged inside the show.

  12. Ah what the heck, one more. Now this guy knows how to make a entrance. [IMG]

Hey.. do those pants make my ass look big?

There was a line.. thats to be expected as you have to look and talk with every sigle car and owner that comes through the gate.. consistency is the key.

besides.. would you rather wait in the parking lot ... or on a busy highway blocking traffic?

it was worth the wait wasn't it :)

That sign was the cats meow.. awesome work !!!

Donna, my lovely assistant did an outstanding job!

Peter Pan.. thank you very very very much for your help.

Thank you for the kind words sir. You are a sweetheart.

The car in photo #1 belongs to CAS's dad, a GREAT guy and alot of fun to hang out with.

The ride in photo #2 belongs to Boomer, head honcho of the Detroit area PeckerHeads, one of the host clubs for BilletProof-Detroit. Boomer is the guy at the end of the phone number if you call regarding swap spaces, registration, general questions, etc. A real nice guy that will do anything for anyone.

#4 belongs to Dirty, a member of the Detroit area Poor Boys, another great guy. All three of these dudes need to be on the HAMB. Hopefully after reflecting on how much fun they had last weekend and the camaraderie involved in a group such as the HAMB, that they will intro soon and join the awesome knowledge base here.

Come on guys, come outta lurker statis and join the fun. We all wanna here detailed info regarding your rides.

Thanks for sharing your photos Joel.

Way to highlight your ASSets...! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

At least you kept your pants up for that shot... [IMG]!

    Thanks Peter Pan...!

  23. Slammed, I had a idea to have all the HAMBr's in attendence sign the banner for a auction. Didn't work out.

I gave it to the Michigan contingent(HRLC) to use where ever. Next year, I will have a larger one and with this years experience we'll have a bigger, better and more organized Meet 'n Greet.

    Thanks for asking though.

Pan, great idea for next year. Junior Stock from Texas and myself were there as well. Same venue? I will drag a couple picnic table's over to HAMB area if need be.

Thank gawd for this! I've been suffering from 'Post Pileup Depression' for a week now! I was hoping to meet you also. Think about it... I'm sure a number of us said "hi" or commented about a car to someone they didn't know... without knowing that they are on this board. That's why I like the meet and greet... so you can finally meet some of the people you 'converse with' on a daily basis! (that, and there are always cookies there!)

I'll post one more... one that I haven't seen posted yet...

Joel, Thanks for posting that Merc. It's a little different than your run of the mill custom and I like it. It sure has that sinister look. You can't always be sucessful thinking "out of the box" but that car pulls it off and pulls you in .
