i'm sure every body is on a tight budget like me, and i was just curious to know how cheap anyone has built a safe, reliable hot rod. i've got about 2 grand in mine. done by scrounging, trading and spending $ on suspension, brakes, steering etc. i'm proud of what i built from a burnt out, rusted hulk that was headed for the crusher!
Well, all I have is an engine and transmission and truck and I'm already 3 grand deep. And the truck was free.
this is what i have so far and i have $19.50 in it. i used parts i already had laying around and everything is good. its a 360 ,4 speed,48 chevy pickup front axle,dart rear,dodge truck wiring harness and s**** metal i made into the body. actually i made the bed 12 inches longer than it is here but dont have any pictures yet of the progresss. it dosent run yet but hopefully this spring. also have a fender done now.i was trying to do it under $1000 so i guess we will see how it goes.
