carb rebuild

    hey
    i was at the 40th street rod nationals when i picked up these 2 50's ford carbs. i figured i would ask everyone out there if they had any sugestons on how to rebuild these. and sorry about the picture quality they were takin with my phone.

    The best advice I could give you is to dis***emble them and soak the parts for each in carb cleaner made for that purpose (not the spray stuff). Let the carb soak in the chemical cleaner as long as you can and then check all p***ages that you can see for gunk. If you find any scrounge...soak again. In other words, getting them clean is the key. Also check for abnormally worn shafts, etc. Then install a good quality kit according to the supplied directions.

    Post the model numbers cast on driver side of bowl...59, 8RT, that kind of stuff.

    one is a model 59 and the other is a 8BA

    umm ill hang on to them picked them both up with the linkage for $60 at the street rod nats
