Thank you all for the kind words. Got a chance tonite to make an RPU door/side panel. It measures 28 1/2 tall 44 inches in length. A couple of these and some 1x1 tubing and I'll be on my way. Let me know what ya think.
Trying to find best way (cost) of shipping these things. Im kinda wanting them to show up @ your place looking like how they left here. shipping quotes as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience. Dave
Just my opinion, but the panels need some curve. The lines are awesome, but some curve would put it over the top. Again, just my thoughts... I want to know more about the tank you're making!! What's the scoop with that?? Is it baffled? What's the construction?? Fill me in! Just as a hint... there is only ONE old guy making Model T style tanks right now and he's WAAAAY behind. I'm making my own because of it. Just some food for thought for you.
Hey Dave the belt lines look great. I'll see you at the showdown and will have the A quarters with me.
Thanks Junior, looking forward to meeting up with everyone. Does Paxton have the BUS tuned up for some hot laps?
Thanks, Scootermcrad, but you're getting ahead of the story,, I am building a monster E-wheel to do just that. It might take a month or two to get it done, stay tuned! The oval shaped tank has baffles (as many as you want). I make them out of .093 aluminum and tig 'em together. fuel guage sender mounts and old school filler caps.I;ll try to post some pics later tonight. I will have the door panels and belt line parts at the Jalopy Showdown next Saterday, the 16thThat is a great show, one our favorites of the year
Dave, To get the curve in the panel you can put a little downward pressure as your panel is going thru the pullmax. It helps if you have a second person pushing on the other end. I did this one last weekend at Gator's meet. We'll be at the Showdown with the other metalshapers. Stop by. J. Clear
