I've never met a 2door wagon that didn't look good, what is this guy talking about? If it needs to impress your wife, cover it with diamonds, unless she prefers ham sandwiches....
Here is my two door wagon..... Not HAMB friendly, but you have to admit it doesn't look like a hearse...
I got this 1 promised to my wife. It keeps her in check when ever she catches me lookin for speed parts. It has even kept me from buying her a new vehicule telling her we can do that but would have to sell the 57, Stop'ed her right there. She loves the thought of having a COOL grocery getter.
Wagons look sorta "cool" because the proportional length of the roof gives the car a chopped look without chopping. Most anyway... The ones that separate the wagon part from the passenger area by having two separate roof heights or heavy pillars defeat that long and low look. for instance, I inherited a '60 Chevy wagon years ago... Hated that curved "C" pillar they left on as a remnant of a 4 dr sedan and they even left it on the 2 dr wagon! That's also why I prefer a tri-5 GM regular 2 dr wagon over a Nomad or Safari. The heavy Nomad/Safari "B" pillar breaks up the flow from the windshield to the rear too much for me. Some REAL good looking wagons were the mid '50's Buick and Olds hardtop wagons and they had 4 doors! (I have a few concessions, very few.) If the maker made a 2 dr wagon a particular year it is always going to be inherently "cooler" than the 4 dr version. There's no way to get a wife to see a Delivery as anything but a meat wagon if she's already of that frame of mind. Too many of them were!
Looks like plenty of people like them, but if she doesn't just cross it off the list. It's for her, get her something you can stand and she likes.....
Agree. It would have made a little sense if it was asked: Can a four-door wagon look good? All wagons are cool, especially the two-doors.
well then here's an idea... if you want HER to be happy, why not just let her pick her own can and drive what she wants? If she's telling you she doesn't want one, then she doesn't want one.
You are asking a loaded question.....it is basically a matter of taste so there is no right or wrong answer. If your wife doesn't like wagons, I think you are facing a long uphill battle. I like some wagons, I also like some 4 dr wagons converted to 2 dr done correctly. I prefer 2 dr cars myself, but that is just me.
