Juss joined up, been a gear head most a my life, retired BMW tech of 33 years. First car was a 1964 Chevy Biscane, 300 HP, 327, 4-speed. Built a conventional dune buggy in the 70's. Built a BMW 2002 for dirt track foreign stock cl*** at Baylands Raceway Park, Fremont Ca. in the 80's. Had a 66 Olds Toronado, a 69 and 73 GTO both 400 4-speeds, a BMW 2002 TII with mods, a BMW Bavaria with triple weber's and suspension mods, a BMW 530 with Hardy & Beck turbo and BBS suspension. Just bought my first "hot rod", a 1950 Studabaker pickup with a Chevy 350, 350 trans, Ford 9", drop axle with disc brakes and frenched 1954 Buick headlights. Go'n the rat rod route with a worn junk yard look and a weatherd sign on the doors like BUTCH's SPEED and TOWING, ROCH, N.Y., HUBBARD 2-4480 (my grandmother's phone # in the 50's) something along those lines. Been riding motorcyles sinse the early 70's, still have my 1987 Harley FXR.
Hey Carlos, welcome onboard, it's good to have another wrench amoung us, just stay away from the "rat" terminology, it really gets um goin. It sounds like with your experience, you won't be building the typical RR anyway. Maybe a"traditional beater"!
