I am new to this board but am a long time Mopar fan. I have several muscle cars but recently decided I wanted a rod to add to my stable. I bought this yesterday on my birthday! I admittedly don't know much about pre-60's model cars but I love em anyway. Please tell me what you think and give my any input you would like. It is a roller with but otherwise complete. Hand built frame, mustang II front end, 10 bolt rear with coilovers, body's been channeled 3 inches. All steel body is straight and no rust. clear 32 title! What do you think it is worth? I hope I got a good deal on it.

Grill doesn't look original. Anyone know what it comes from?
What kind of motor would you suggest? Would a 440 fit in it?
    Any and all comments appreciated.

I don't care what it's worth, that thing's got a ton of potential and ought to turn out great!

might be the original grille & shell, they were kinda stately

Congrats and happy birthday. Welcome to the hamb! For motor I suggest HEMI. The mII front susp should be good for at least 10-15 yards if you throw it hard enough ;)

Grille looks like a shortened 34-35 chevy.

    Here's some stockers for comparison

Hey, nice project! I'm a Mopar man, too, and the 32 Chrysler was their top dawg in my mind, with the best gauges (They'll set you back 500 to 900 for gennies) and cool split window.
    Good luck!

Needs a Hemi... And ditch the Mustang II, swap on a Ford I beam with a buggy spring, and hair pins, disc brakes so you can stop at the end of the drag strip...Should be good. Car looks cool, It would look a hell of alot better with out that IFS shit clutterin' up the front.

I love that cowl! It looks like it has dual cowl vents?

Thanks for the advise and encouragement. I will have her at the house in a few weeks as soon as I can make room for her in the shop. Gotta sell a few cars first. Keeping most of my Mopars though.

It does have two cowl vents....I liked those too.

Not sure about the IFS up front. I may eventually change it but I'll probably just focus on getting it on the road first. I'll keep everyone posted on my progress.

Why are these cars so rare? Everyone's got a Ford or Chevy!

I can tell you guys don't like mustang II frontends but that IS NOT a mustang frontend, my best guess is that it is a dodge D50(Mitsubishi chassis) by the steering box location and the shape of the A arms.
if it has 6 lug wheels that is what it is...

Bryan that is a cool old mopar and great start for a nice car,
If I can be any help to you just ask, I have been playing with mopar rods for over 30 years and think mopar powered rods are very cool.:D Ron...

here are some mopar coupes on 32 ford frames...

I think i want to stroke a 360 and put that in there....

I heard sometime people use a toyota front end or something like that for the IFS? Not sure about the steering box or where that came either. I hope I didn't make a mistake and buy a POS!! Everything else seems to be okay on the car though. Just need the correct wheel size and backspacing on the rear.

No MII setup has a conventioanl steering box like this one has. That chassis is a good customer for the scrapheap and a new frame should be built to real hotrod specs.

Did it come with fenders that would probably help a lot. It would kinda hide the IFS. If you want to run it like it is. Then get a new hood with side pieces for the engine compartment. Looks like the rearend is too wide also. Other than that looks real good...:)

No fenders...will Ford fenders fit? I thought I heard that somewhere. No one makes fenders for Chrysler's as far as i know.

"Fit" is a relative term. Chryslers were longer in the nose than fords so I'd have a hard time imagining they'd actually fit. Plus chrysler of that era usually had some decorative embossing on the fender that ford didn't.

When you find 30s chrysler parts they'll either be almost free because the seller has had them forever and they've been passed over by a thousand ford owners, or they'll be sky high because the seller knows what a restored 30s chrysler is worth.

    good luck
