Has anybody had a chance to compare the repop manifolds to the originals? I just got some old stuff from a friend and in the box was a single center dump manifold. It appears to be rt or left? I need to know if a repop is close enough or should I hold out for a real one and hope to find a single. Any Ideas? I also got an old mallory distributor mdl# YC340A that has a tach drive and I'm hoping to find a good old tach for my 312 tri power Model A roadster project. There is also an old Harvey aluminum flywheel, but it is badly cracked over the entire steel clutch facing surface. A pair of ECZG heads, popup pistons and a couple of used cams one of which is supposed to be like a 3/4 cam. This was stuff he had left over from when he raced Jalopies in Portland in the 60's. Thanks in advance
good question, I am also wondering the same thing. I am building a Y block right now and have a set of originals however one has a slight crack and the other as an ear broken off.
We used to put them on Y-block 54-56 pickups all the time but I dont think they fit a car ch***is. I could be wrong though
I have a pair of the p***enger car manifolds. This one is the bigger version that is similar to the chevrolet ram horn but larger(appears to be better flow)
The FORD rams horn will fit either side,,,was intended for larger trucks,, will not fit a Y-block car,,,,,,if I recall, the end tab is an open slot.
Both Ford and Lincoln Y Blocks had the ram's horns but the end tabs on the lincolns are angled and the Fords are straight across. Can't use lincoln rams horns on a ford y. Only ones I know of that are repopping them are Mummert but they are high dollar. Most people use em to get rid of the crossover pipes on the ford pickups for dual exhaust. I don't believe they fit cars. They came on 61-64 F500 and up Ford trucks with a Ford Y block I believe.
