Not sure if this is the right place for this, but just giving everyone that is close to Austin a heads up. Empire Automotive Service Garage located at 604 E. 7th St (just west of IH-35) has closed after about 60 years fo operations. It's a bummer because it was such a cool little shop in an area that used to be full of this kind of stuff and has all disappeared. The good news is though they are selling a bunch of the equipment to clean out the place. I have nothing to do w/ this place but have been there and I hate to see a bunch of this stuff wind up at the salvage yard. Below are couple of pic of some analyzers there, but there is multiple workbenches w/ vises, air jacks, boxes of misc parts, repair books(chilton manuals) shelving, tranny jacks, floor jacks, and on and on and on.........Some pretty cool vintage equipment. Alot of stuff has been sold already, but there is still some treasures there and the stuff is cheap. They do not want to move any of it. Call Daniel at 512-472-2944 to make sure someone will be there or just go by during the day. They will be there about another week. I am heading over there now w/ Lee Pratt. Will try and take some more pics.
