1954 bel air straight 6 rebuild kit

    anyone know where i can get a rebuild kit for a 1954 bel air straight 6 motor? its either i rebuild this motor and keep all matching numbers everything origional in my 54 or put a 350 in it. thanks. dave

    Rebuilding engines ain't like rebuilding a wheel cylinder. Pull the thing down and see what it needs . A fifty year old engine HAS been worked on before ,so may need US bearings OS rings etc. So the point is a "KIT" has to be ***embled to the needs of THAT engine's condition now.

    And as far as that goes visit your FLAPS ,NAPA CarQuest etc. Most parts for that engine should not be that hard to locate.

    thanks guys! i am in the process of trying to fix the motor up now. it runs but im sure could use a few new parts.
