Found this cool-ugly sedan for sale

How about this for different? All original at a local auction on Saturday. Its a 39 Hudson 2-door sedan.

 

Those actually do make nice hotrods, different and exotic looking.

 

I want that.

Very cool. Looks pretty straight.
If it were a coupe, it would make a great gasser as it has that 40 Willys/Stude look to the front end.

 

I am going to try to go see the car today and get the "scoop" on it. I will take my camera and see if I can get some other photos. Sometimes the owners wont let you see the stuff until the day of the sale. So we will see...

Nice solid looking car. Actually it's a '39 Nash. As you can see in the ad below even 4-doors look really cool chopped, in bright yellow with flush mount skirts!

 

Factory "Westergard" grill!

 

With the strong and unusual styling cues and the fact that 99.9999% of the human race cannot identify it, it is already a custom!
Add skirts, put on simple bumper with huge slot cut in it like a Continental, lower, black or maroon paint...it will stop traffic.
You can just hide near it and enjoy the idiot conversations and fights as car nuts try to ID the thing.
Photoshop and install a military bumper decal, parking for hangar area, Roswell base, 1949...

 

Remove the side grills, skirts, chop and Carson top it, and lower it, paint it maroon... and glide around...

Buy it and build it! I'm a Ford guy basically, but I like the unusual ones you don't see every day. Those old Nashes had a reputation for being good handling and good riding cars.
