I took delivery of 2, 36 and 1 35 International trucks today. I also got an extra grill and a re chromed insert. I am still waiting on delivery of another 36 and a 33 1/2 t pickup. The plan is to keep one and sell the rest. I will be at the drags if anyone is interested. Does Sanford and son come to mind
I seemed to keep them pissed off most of the time. I just tell them I could always put hogs on my 9 acres. They seem to be ok with the cars.
*****in. congrats. i think that tree in the front yard could use some yard art wrapped around it, with the left over parts?
I have an A model 1933 1 1/2 ton chasis and drive line sand blasted & primered, new brakes and drums. If interested contact me cornbinder13@cox.net
Are those the same trucks we looked at last saturday? They don't look the same without the brush and weeds. Again good score I'll swing by and check em out again after the drags.
One thing I can't figure out is that the 35 has an OHV 6, 1 of the 36 has an OHV 6 and the other 36 has a flat 6. There seems to be no ryme or reason. I know that one is a 35 because it has mechnical brakes and fluid brales came in 36. Can anyone clear this for me? Thanks Keith
I don't know squat about old Internationals but a lot can happen to a 70 year old vehicle. Maybe some parts swapping took place. I've also seen some pretty goofy factory mismatches. Were all Binders built on the same ***embly line or was there several locations? I owned a low serial number, unmolested (1 cheap repaint) '57 Chev sedan delivery with windows. 1 of 92. It had an SP (special) paint code. The color was navy gray. The green interior was '56 Belair flip forward bench seat with a back seat. The 55-57 experts will tell you it never came that way from the factory. Found out the original owner was the U.S. Navy. I know a Corvette owner with a '62 that has factory purple paint with red interior. The Cadillac color wasn't offered unless you bought a fleet of 10 or more cars which 12 Shriners from Kansas did. There's still 1/2 dozen of those cars undiscovered.
One's likely a larger model than the other. I have two '36's and one is a flat head, and one's an OHV. The body is the same, except the hood length is longer on the larger models by something like 8". PM coming.
Has anyone used the original frame, removing all of the 1 1/2 ton front suspension, slipping a straight axle on, pulling the rearend out, shortening the frame and put a 10 bolt or 9" ford in? That would seem to be the easiest and fastest way to get street ready and not mess with with changing the cab location? Give me some input!! I am wanting to sell 2 of the trucks off to fund the project. I will be keeping 1 of the long hood trucks for my build. Help me out and tell me if my idea is workable. Thanks Keith The picture is from Hawks truck.
