Thanks Chaddilac, I just finished the mounts this morning. It's an original Aluminum visor for a car and was a bit narrow for the truck.
I really like it! I bought one off ebay for my '54 Ford car and it is missing the mounts,if you have any pics of the mounts I would like to see them.,to give me an idea what to fab up.
I have a picture of the mount but it's a bit crude and the picture is a bit fuzzy. I bent some round bar and cut some thin plate to size and to mach the arch. A friend welded them together, I drilled up through the rain gutters and used stainless screws & painted them up,. Here ya go JeffB2:
i've got one for my 51.thinkin about putting it on, like the looks of yours. does it affect your line of site out of the truck? and on the screws thru the drip rail, sheet metel screws? or did you use a nut/bolt. i guess you could have drilled and tapped the plate.i guess what i'm saying is how/what kind of screws. and it really looks good!!!
Looks great. I have one on the '51 wagon. My buddy looked at it, and the roof rack I added, and said, "How is that making the roof taller and longer makes it look lower?"
Here are some shots I took this morning by the lake: The Winged Avenger II said it best "Big Improvement". The visor really changes the look of the roof line and actually makes it look a bit lower (my truck is NOT chopped, if it does that's my photography). B.A.King As far as the line of sight, it will take a bit of getting used to leaning forward to see the traffic lights. For some reason it makes you concentrate more on the road but that'll change as I get used to it. I lost the upper 1/4 of the windshield viwing area or say, anything above the bottom line of the rear view mirror. It makes a big difference with the heat too, it's alot cooler inside now!
