I've heard good things about it, but man it's pricey motor oil. Is it worth the money?

I've seen a bearing test that was independant (they tested alot of east coast oils that i'd never even heard of)- they were very surprised at the outstanding results of Royal Purple. It posted the best results.

I've run it for a long time and it's nice to have it validated.

I run it in my daily but not in my Hot Rod. We also run it in all of our machines at work. I dont pay full price for it though I order it through the company. It does work very well though but I used mobile one before I had this job and it was fine also.

We ran a Nitro Harley, and used various oils. Royal Purple introduced us to their product and WOW it did not break down to the Nitro. All that being said, I put it in a turbo Buick that I had at the time, and because I didn't properly purge my oil system, it calved the motor. Despite all of that I do have to say their oil did respond well to heavy usage.....just be carefull of mixing your oils

  6. I also saw the bearing test, and the tested Mobil One and Royal Purple kicked it ***.
I have been using RP in the Miata's since '99 or so.
Run them hard on the street and track.

Worth the extra $$$, but I still run Dino in the old iron.
I will put RB in the new SBC i'm building for my '64 Truck, though.

  7. My boss runs it in the cat engine in the peterbuilt i drive. it has over a million miles on it. When the oil gets about 8 or 9 thousand miles on the oil change it will start drinking oil. change oil and good to go for another 8 thousand miles? too expensive for me. i use shell rotella in my diesels. 8. You can run it if you want, good for some applications. I know that it makes a differance in high dollar motors. I ran a big block drag car with an LS6, and circle track Modlite with Kawasaki ZX12. I ran Tractor supplies 10/40 for severe service, and never had an oil related problem. I sold all of them and motors were clean, just use a good filter and regular changes. The worst thing for oil in not getting the motor up to temp to boil out contaniments. Just my 2 cents.

I have had great luck with Royal Purple in all of my vehicles. I like it and will keep running it as long as I can afford it. That is the only problem with it is the price of it.
