About 2 miles outside of springfield we(Bigpapab and myself) got a rearend noise. We will be replacing a rear wheel bearing in the 8 inch rear in the Fairlane. We are staying at the Hampton inn across the street from a Ford dealership. I have the axle out. I will try the dealer in the am and see if they have a bearing, and can press it on. I will need a slide hammer for sure.
Just trying to get the word out. We should be able to take care of this on our own, but help is always good.

Joplin, so close but so far away.

Slick50 (Ken) just talked to Jason (who is still stuck in Springfield)- he is driving a 63 Fairlane with an 8" rear end, he says he needs a right rear wheel bearing and seal, which he will try to get from the Ford dealer across the street from his motel in the morning.

If not we will work from this end also - we are in Joplin. We may get to try out Ryno's new tools :)

Here is Ryno (Ryan's) phone number. 805-420-2821
He has a slide hammer and press in his garage. Also has a trailer and is heading to the swap meet in Springfield tomorrow. He's a great guy. Call him and try to arrange something.

Looks like Denise has this covered, but if this falls through let me know my Father-in-law is in Springfield.

Jason just walked over to the dealer with the axle in hand to see if someone would help out. The service manager didn't seem like he wanted to help much on the phone. Said all the tools belonged to the techs and he didn't know if they would loan him a slide hammer. Might be able to get Autozone to deliver one if they don't help.

    More later...

Getting closer. The dealer across the road got the old bearing off but the parts guy from O'reiley's brought the wrong bearing and seal...DOH! He did bring a slide hammer though. Got the race pulled. Jason and **** went back to the store to get the right stuff then the bearing pressed on. Should be good in another hour or so

Roadkill was awsome. Got to ride in his sweeeet pick up. The bearing was in the wrong box. A quick trip to the warehouse solved that. The guys at the machine shop hooked me up, and will hopefully will be joining the hamb soon.

****oned up, and on the road.

I really do love this place, best family I have ever had. Thank you very much.
