I bought the shot bag and i put sand in it and it works like ****. whats the best stuff to put in it and where do i get it?? Not online because its gonna be too heavy for shipping! Thanx Ian
#9 and #8 lead shot are good, has some health risks but is alloyed as not to be as bad for the environment as 100%.... sand is bad for you too, steel shot will rust over time. nothing is perfect. Lead shot fairly reasonable around here St.Louis area, a shot tower in Granite City,Il. a relay could be done if needed? tt
Lead shot is preferred. Used to be a neat shot tower at the old Winchester factory in New Haven. Some of you older guys may remember what a factory is?
Just called IMS in sun valley and Lead shot ain't cheap!! They recommend 2x 25 lbs for the size i have @ 1.49$/lbs= 75$......JEEEEEZZZ! Looks like play sand is gonna go in my bag! 50lbs=2.79$ at OSH Ian
What's the best stuff to put inside?? Whoa, there's some things baby I just can't swallow. Mama told me that girls are hollow.
Whatcha got...whatcha got...Whatcha got in the pot? Whatcha got...whatcha got...Whatcha got in the pot?
Like da itty bitty baby takes apart his toys. I'm gonna find what's rilin' up the boys. Sugar and ****e is just a bluff. You can tell me baby...what is that stuff?! Come on...What's inside a girl? That wavy gravy got my head in a whirl. The Cramps
It has been a few years ago 2003? it was 15-16 bucks for a 25lb bag. somewhere around 6-7 bags to fill the 24" bag (the big bag) about 10 yrs before that I put 75lbs in what is the medium bag. Keep an eye out at gov't surplus places they have 5-6" round shot bags they call "stress relievers" they are handy as heck. got an extra purse or one you wouldn't be seen dead with ??? fill it up, they work.
I used #9 in my bag and I really like it. I've tryed sand and didn't like it either. Just really watch for leaks. Your bag leaks lead you'll end up like El Caballo.

For ****s and grins I put DG (yup decomposed granite) in an old bag I had. Works pretty damn good too. Cheap as hell too as it came outta my yard...had some left over from a re-landscape project .
Since I live in a cow town..... I stopped by a local leather shop to see if he'd make one for me. Hell yea! $20 for something between 12 and 18" square depending on what he has sitting around, some of it might be purple LOL How full should it be? Say it's 18" square, sitting on a flat table, about how thick is it when filled with sand? Thom
