I have read most 350s run on the warm side ...... mine sets around 190 / 200 ....I was also wondering if anyone has any suggestions on coolant....
I can smell antifreeze when she is running ...... doesn't look like there is any leaks that I can see .........
Tell me what you guys are running in the radiators.......

She also has electric fan I kick on around 190 or so ....... but she seems to overheat drop in power..... when shes warm pulling out she'll bog down I'll let off the gas and then she get her power back..... I'm stumped cause the radiator is fairly new ..... come on HAMB ers help a guy out .....

My SBC ran hot at weird times, turned out i was running lean at part throttle. Had been idling off the rear butterfly's of a Demon 4bbl. Your timing dialed in?

I would try a thermostat swap..could be a quick and simple solution.

Buy a cheap thermostatic switch from you local auto parts store. I don't know why you are running it through a switch, but can guess...I've been there.

If you are running a V8 in a non-V8 car you may have issues. One fix is to run a 3 core radiator, but I don't think that is the problem. If the rad isn't leaking, is the exhaust blowing a mild amount of white smoke?

You may have a leaking head gasket. I hope some or any of this helps.

190 -200 is not overheating. What is the ambiant temp when you are driving? What is your fan setup? What type and size of radiator do you have? Do you have a fan shroud? Fan belt slipping? Pulley size? You will need a 50/50 anti freeze water mixture to run best.

Have someone do a pressure test on the cooling system. Do you have any overflow tank? Do you have the proper radiator cap for the application?

I use aluminum in my cars

I dont know what the weather is like in PA right now. But here in Central TX it is very hot and humid. Your car will not run as well when its hot and humid outside as when it is cooler. What is your air cleaner setup? Are you taking hot air from the engine compartment and pulling that into the engine? If so it will not run as good as when it is cooler.

    Kinda need some more info...pictures..

Amazing what a shroud can do. The factories figured it out.

Antifreeze smell.... When you have a leaky head gasket it can come back through the cooling system and boil out your coolent. Check your overflow for your radiator when it's hot. If it's bubbling like molten lava you have a leaky head gasket. In a sealed system the heat and coolent stabalize. Check your radiator when cold to make sure the level is good than go for a cruise. When you start to smell coolent pull over and check your overflow to see what it's doing.

Put a 180 or 190 thermostat in it. Not sure it will fix your problem but a 165 is too cold.

carpet near the passenger firewall damp? heater core maybe weeping. Get a good 180* stat and a shroud.
