ill second steele.i found it to be very high quality.your **** out of luck on the turn signal switch.a nos one just sold for 160 bucks on e-bay.the last one i saw on there went for around 70-80.what does that tell you.its insane.i acedently forgot to unplug mine when i pulled my colom(it flew apart),but i found all the peices, and put it back togather.there very simple inside, and i would recommend that you take it apart if you havent yet to see what wrong with it.becarfull though there are small roller ballstowards the outside.plus springs, etc. eric
Is this the switch? My neighbor is a dealer for NOS/antique parts - says he gets $150.00 for a NOS switch. They are restorable by the owner - is it the switch or the lever/cam that's the problem? Mutt
USA Parts Supply or Fusik two good places for 50's olds stuff. Send some pics of the switch I might be able to help. Not sure if its the same as my 55 super88.
Also be sure to frequent the various Oldsmobile sites, and carouse with the OCA members. Try oldsclub.org for the OCA site and look for the cl***ified forum, also try oldsmobile1958.com, as well as the National Antique Olds Club site. Join the clubs! Also don't forget tossing out want ads on collector car sites with cl***ifieds such as Hemmings (hmn.com I think) and any others you find with an online search.
Then you ain't doing it right... I always find enough parts to flip to more than pay for my membership dues. Gotta be smarter than the dues, my friend, gotta be smarter than the dues.
