We all have those days when things don't go right. Just forget about it today and have a better tomorrow.

i spent my whole morning trying to get a little tiny piece of plastic to slide just enough so my wipers would finally work.
Then dealing with the cable binding, then with the wiper arms being slightly bent, then dealing with a helper spring to get the slide to move that extra 1/16th of an inch to get full va***e, then with the cable end not staying attatched, then with getting a 12V wake up call from a wet arm touching electrical parts it shouldnt. And all this fun, in a slight-to-heavy rain.
****ty, yah i jammed a pair of needel nose pliers into a tree, but now i get to stand back and say "hey Dad, i dont need the Rain-X anymore, i have wipers."

NEVER work on your project when you're mad at! Days like this are going to happen. Walk away, and come back later...

working on cars and bikes has always been the thing that makes me forget all the other **** going on in my life... two weeks ago, for the first time in 20 years, i couldn't even look at my truck and left my garage disgusted 10 mins after getting there... i actually caught myself yelling "why do i bother with all this old ****?!" my difficulties with that project and thoughts of 3 other currently non-op vehicles and too little money and not enough time and a ***** ex-girlfriend and a damn hot miami summer really got to me... for a moment i considered selling everything, but i decided to leave it alone for a while... a couple weekends p***ed, and i developed a new plan and at***ude and have been revitalized in the shop this weekend... i dis-***embled and re***embled the front end on my truck for the fourth and fifth times a**** other things and although its not exactly going smoothly, i find myself relishing the challenge... i can't wait to get back in there tomorrow.

Like a good ***le for a "Country song"

We have all had bad car construction days like that. One step forward three steps back. Mine was a chop gone "really gone"--- bad.

  13. The other day I went to pull an intake and one bolt was so rusted the head was rounded off. So I'm out there in the heat and high humidity with an old chisel trying to drive the head off because I'm 200 yards from electricity. Of course I broke the chisel tip off. I only got lucky in that I did enough damage to loosen it and the chisel started it turning for me. What a pain in the ***.

And I have a real mystery motor, a 68-70 Pontiac 400 short block (I haven't bothered to check the casting # out yet) with 73-74 4X heads and an EGR intake on it. That the valley pan rusted out in and some water got into the crankcase.

  14. Yeah so get this, I get in the car today and the windshield is coverd with ****, so I turn on the wipers and theres no spray, I know that the blue stuff in the big bottle goes under the cars hood somewhere. It took me an hour and the old lady next door to get the hood open, and what the ****???Where would you pour that stuff anyway???? So I go to start the car to drive it to a mechanic and only a red light comes on that says "Oil". Easy enough, right? Under the hood again I go, (once again with the elderly ladys help cause I didn't pay enough attention the first time. Now lets see, Where does this oil **** go? wheres it come from? **** it, thats what the cell phone is for I'll just call road service and wait an hour...But get this!!! It takes the ***hole 2.5 hours to get there!!! like I have two and a half hours to wait for someone to check and fix my oil light!!!!!. Long story short I start giving this ***hole the *** reaming that he deserves for not making my day better as he puts my car on the back of his towtruck. Then he wants to know where he's gonna take it And I tell the ***** (I told him this) that I'd do the driving because i'd like to get there today!!! He tells me okay!!! that he could use a break. So I hop up in the front of the truck and youd never belive it......It w***nt an automatic truck, I mean it had all the extra pedals and the stick and all of that ****, so I told him to drive his own fred flinstone mobile because thats what I was paying him for......
Wouldn't ya know it, It rains a bit on the way there and the windshield cleans itself. We get there and the mechanic drives it off of the truck!!!. I demand to know how he started it and he sais something about switching to saftey first and that he neutralized the shifter, and he charges me $400!!!!!I know this mustof been some sortof scam cause it wouldnt start for me...
    So tell me....
Whos really having the day from Hell???????

MORAL OF THE STORY; NO MATTER HOW BAD YOUR DAY GOES,
THANK GOD THAT YOUR NOT ONE OF THE IMCOMPETANT ****S,
THAT SEEM TO PLAUGE THE WORLD IN GREAT NUMBERS THESE DAYS....

Wait a second, I think I might have missed something. You ended up paying a tow truck guy $400 because your oil light came on and you couldn't figure out where to add oil? Am I understanding that properly?

I'm dying to know what kind of car you are working on, what kind of spring you need custom made, why the radius rods are in the way of the floor being cut away for exhaust, seat/trans/driveshaft tunnel?

Sounds a day from hell all right.

I hope so. I am pretty dense, so it is certainly likely it blew past me.

Sorry for the frustration. However, I tend to think that a bad day of working on my truck is better than a good day many other places.

I have a lot of those days. seems like everything I do to my car takes two or three tries to get it right, or at least close.

  22. Had one of those a few years back - THAT was a bad day!! :(
