I just saw this on CNN, Marc Almond from Soft Cell (tainted Love) is fighting for his life after a motorcycle accident. Call me a**** if you like, but I love Soft Cell and all of Marc Almond's solo stuff. His song "Tears Run Rings" is one of my all time faves. Sure he's a queeny little shrimp, but he was sleeved long before any greaser I ever saw. I hope he makes it, I really do.
yeah, i hope he makes to too. *****s seeing guys go out like that. I'm not a real big fan of his music, but "tainted love" sounded good as hell when The Living End covered it. There's nothing wrong with 80's music or new wave, but if you came on here talking about an emo band, I'd have to ask you to surrender your balls immediately. -'57 Joe
That's a shame. My prayers are with him. I have "Tainted Love", the full length version on 33&1/3rd. Great song. Named my '66 Riveria lowrider that. I hope he pulls thru. Joel
Back when they played music videos, Soft Cell was all over MTV. They were unique and the song grew on you. Why couldn't this happen to Hall and/or Oates?
How can you not like Soft Cell when they had a song called "Sex Dwarf"! I'm an old coot who grew up in the 80's and gotta say all us punks secretly liked Soft Cell (cause all the girls liked Soft Cell!) Hope he pulls through as he is a talented guy.************* is a great floor stomping Northern soul fav by Gloria Jones, I hear that Marc Almond was once beat up by some********** soul boys back in the day because of the way they covered the song....

Can't say i cared too much for Soft Cell but i hope he pulls through ok! Around the same time************* was also covered by Dave Phillips, if you like that track this one is worth a listen. http://www.raucousshop.co.uk/static2/PID6160.htm http://www.rockabilly.nl/lyrics4/t0053.htm
Yeah exactly Soft Cell/marc almond didn't write the song*************, it was a guy Called Ed Cobb who wrote it for Gloria in 1964 I read it in a news paper the otherday, sad to hear hope he pullsthrough, he seems like a cool guy actually,
you cant help but like someone who comes up with the lyric...Sex Dwarf, isn`t it nice , luring Disco Dollies to a life of vice.... wasn`t Gloria Jones married to Marc Bolan? monkey
Here's one for you... in the early days... Social Distortion played a cover of*************! Try that on! Personally... Not into the guys music and never have been... but I hate to see anybody go down. My dads bro Bradley.. he used to work behind lucky's speed shop in Dallas. Really good at polishing***** up. Has a chrome shop and*****. His bike went down with a chicka on back. I guess the Girl is pretty much toast and Bradley has been in a coma for about a week now. They think someone might have been a hit on him. You guys may have seen him on TV recently. They had a bike build off with several countries involved. He did some work for the American team. Reall bummer. Bradley is a good dude!
'32Limey, I've got that 45 by Dave Phillips and his Hot Rod Gang, good track, kinda dated sounding now though. I saw Soft Cell back in '81 at the First Futurama Music Festival in Leeds. If I recall they were booed off stage. Man, I'd totally forgotten about**** Dwarf, that's a wickedly perverted sopng. I hope he makes it through.
he's critical today but stable ,they recon he will pull through .Typical chelsea cruise type crash i'm told .............well not the cruise but people cruise up and down the area on saturdays ......Marq
Nads you're showing your age now mate I have the single too & on a couple of his albums also, i was looking for a link on the net so i could put it on here in case anyone wanted to hear his version! yeah its dated alright but still pretty good. I figured you would know it.
marilyn manson did a great cover of************* as well. i am old enough to have liked the soft cell version and like most of you i grew up on the 80's stuff, but i leaned a little more toward********* than most, hell, i was even into that whole glam/punk thing. marc will be in our prayers... tred.
Tainted Love is the song I sing when I have some other song stuck in my head! It's about the only Soft Cell song I care for - couldn't pick out the dude in a lineup & never heard his name until now, but always tough to see folks go down on bikes - the safety nazis will be pushing to ban 'em!
i grew up in the 80's also..i remember when the song came out .... it was always top 10...also when i was in elem.school me and my friends put on a fashion show for my mom....since it was so "new wave/cool" we used black trash bags, silver metallic lipstick and metallic blue eyeshadow.it was so cool! hehehehe... we would make diff types of looks using the trash bags...dresses/skirts/tops etc... we were pretty creative for kids int he 3rd-6th grades! much fun!!! i still enjoy the song when it comes on. shame to see people you listened to/grew up on get hurt.
