Interesting site thanks. I couldn't get the language switch thing to work though. I wonder where the Van nuys automotive thing fits in? Sparky

Vannuys is the shop that puts on Custom Hill in Fuji.

MAL, will you be at Moon Yokohama in December? I'll be coming with Cole and ChopperDoug.

barnett - thats a 2TG toyota motor. those motors are crazy. some (very few) came with 50mm sidedrafts and dry sump oiling from toyota.

  10. Are they fast/quick? What kinda hp? Whoever owns the one in the pic, did a really nice job dressing it up. [IMG]

....mmmm....you sure? I've got 2 of these...18R-GU, with twin Solex carbs, stock puts out 145 hp (easily more with some simple headporting) , mated to a celica 5 speed.

    MAL,

I love seeing your web-site. The Japanese take the Hot-Rod and Kustom style and do their own thing with it - without being disrespectful about it. It's amazing to see how clean and tasteful the cars are.

One peice of advise - just for you MAL. Lose this logo or you might get into legal trouble. Our HAMB friend So-What has seen what the So-Cal lawyers can do - and it isn't nice!!! (Just ask him). It's more trouble than he thought is was worth anyway.

It was So-Cheap that ran into the problems.

Milners coupe in Japan. Wild. A few years I sold some HD motor cycle parts to a resident of japan. He told me garage space was the bigest problem to having any type of hot rod or mc in japan.

I borrowed a few pics that were posted from a previous event...just awesome! Oddly enough, over here visors are kind of frowned upon but over there it's the thing to have.
Are each of these cars done by their owners or is there a custom guru over there that's doing a lot of this work?
I wanna go to a show in Japan.

Looks like a blast. What kind of taxes do you guys over there pay to have older cars?

Yep, 2TG's rule, I imported my first into the US in 1985. That is the reason my name on the internet is BANZAITOYOTA. Of course I caught shit for using that name here, but 6 months later you are going gaga over one of the engines taht started me in the automotive hobby. [IMG]

  22. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome cars! Just like last year.

Those guys put a interesting spin on their stuff.

    Love it.

Did you post a pic, back then? I can't speak for everyone else, but over the last 3 or 4 years I've really learned to open my mind to different possibilities. I still catch myself, every now and then, slipping back into old thought habits, but it happens less and less. [IMG]

That little gold compact near the bottom of page 4... looks like they welded the front and rear doors together... how are they hinged?

Does anyone have more pics of this car? This is similar to what I'm wanting my car to look like except I'll be using 55 rings instead.

Thanks for the pics Mal. I didn't see a turd in the bunch, unlike almost any show here. You guys are definitely SERIOUS.

    Dig this.
