    Well done!
It is always fantastic to see someone bring back an old hotrod from the grave, you did a great job.

You had me going for a minute there, Jack Schafer had a 32 and I thought the last motor it had was a hemi, but the last name is spelled different.

Good to see it back on the street since the last time we PMed each other. As a real 32 guy, I just L O V E seeing these old Henry built Fords getting back on the road. :D

  3. I may have mispelled his name. I have a pic of it, I will post it as soon as I can locate it. I wanted to dip the car but did not want to lose that bit of history so used lots of paint stripper and gentle sand blasting. I think it might have been Schiefer. If you look close, another give away about the cars identiy are the scoops on the hood sides, cut down headlight buckets, round rod forms the entry, 1st 5 louvers were shortened above the scoops, all this to clear the 392 VCs. Car had an Oregon plate on it when I got it. Was he from Eugene/Springfield area? I was raised in the E/S area in the 40s thru 63. Was gone to Seattle from dec 58 thru jun 61. Where in the western us are you? Dave
    Correct spelling: Schafer, my mistake.

Congratulations!! Now I know there is hope for me yet. I bought my '32 5w in 1973 and to date I've driven it 6 blocks. Put an engine in it on a dare and got three blocks from the house and it started overheating caught in traffic. Pulled over and Let it cool down. fired it back up and drove home. End of Deuce adventure.
I've collected parts for the rebuild since and need to get it done before the dirt nap. The '32 2dr is SOOOOOOO much fun and maintainence free that every time i need a deuce fix it's just waiting to stretch her legs so the 5w just sits.:)

My dads 32 ford coupe was from the portland oregon area and someone had undercoated the rear floor and wrote there name in the undercoat.I have had many flipper hubcaps that people would scribe there name on them.

  14. Looks like that the "Jack Schafer" may be "Flat Head Jack" of Walnut Creek CA, have talked wtih him and sent pics. He built 3 of them in the 50s, one like this with a Caddy. We will see what developes. Dave

Hey bring it back. It's great that you kept it this long. i bought my first '32 in '71 for $325. You got a smokin' deal. I remember Frank Munn had a 5 window, chopped about 3" on his lot on Railroad Blvd. Qxidized Washington blue & still had the flathead. Saw it years later at Portland swap, still looked the same. There was a kid that lived in the trailer park on Franklin that had a yellow chopped '32 that resembled the Grafitti coupe, had a vette motor. How long had yours sat without the motor? I'll quiz any old timmers if I runn into them.
