Hi all! Just wanted to introduce myself. Patrick Lee here from Berkley, MI... suburb just outside of Detroit. Been lurking around the site for a while, and decided to join in on the fun. This place has been a great source of info! My ride is a '56 Stude wagon, which I have yet to start on. I'm really getting into the old skool scene, and I think that's the direction I want to take with it. Billet is cool, but I think it lacks a little personality. I'm thinking it'll get dropped on some steelies and wide whites, and I'll call it a day. Anyway- I just finished the interior of my dad's '53 Starliner, and am taking a break before I get neck-deep into the wagon. Thanks for the welcome! Yep, did the whole thing. Thanks for the compliment! Wasn't terribly hard... just took a long time! I know, I gotta get out in that garage. I just got the wagon's replacement motor on a stand this past weekend... looking to get it fired up here shortly before I swap 'er in...I might be able to get it on the road before the snow flies... but we'll see...

Welcome Pat. all the Miochigan HAMBers are GAY! Well except me of course. Donzie is the ring leader and GMB central is somewhere in Midland, but I don't know where of course. SO do you do trim work for other people or is this something you just did for yourself to save some cash? Lots of good car people in our area. I'm sure wee'll see you around sometime. ............................................................. Ok I went back and looked at the pic of the interior in the 53. All I have to say if you don't do that for other people you should. I always need some trim work done, we should talk. And lastly did you find out what GMB stands for yet?
Thanks for the compliments! I haven't done any interior work for anyone else (yet)... that was actually my first whack at it. I'm always up for lending a hand- if you need it, just give me a shout. I've thought about getting out from behind my desk job to build interiors... just gotta grow some larger heuvos, I suppose! Nope- still in the dark about the whole GMB thing. I 'spose I'll figure it out eventually...
Since you live so close to me, I'll clue you in. GMB means Gay Michigan Bitches. I don't know the whole story, but somehow, it has come to be that any of us on the HAMB from Michigan is by default GAY, by definition. Not neccesarily sexual orientation. FatHack seems to be a big proponent of the '70's "Disco Lives" movement, and the "we dress Gay movement", in good fun. They raided Denise's clothes closet last year for a fasion show at a party she had at her house. Basically, the alcohol was making some members get in touch with their feminine sides. A few of us GMBs actually do get together on occasion, RocketJ2 is a buddy of mine from pre-school days, and I've met a few others from HAMB events and having them over my house. So, I guess you should consider yourself to be one of the GMB's now. You may want to move to another state if you don't want to be pegged as 'gay'... Nice cars by the way.
