sorry to keep asking these dumb questions. you guys have helped me so much in the past. my car is finished in DP90(99% sure)flat black.... i have a few blemishes on the paint. 1. the paint itself is dull, dry, and ****ty looking. 2. hurricane came to town and dripped something through the roof and down the side of doors a few years ago. 3. ****** line blew...fluid everywhere. cleaned it, now it has spots that look like something spilled on it. like a i spilled a gl*** of milk on the fenders. 4. couple areas are super shinny for some reason?? like it was polished/buffed? the over all paint job wasnt such a great job to start with. i think it was a bit of a scuff and shoot job over the previous paint(pearl white. god that must have been ugly!!). anyway, since then the finish has gotten worse. i just got the car a few months ago and i am trying to do temporary improvements until some much needed body work gets done. at that time, it will be stripped and we will be starting over. until then...what can i do to improve the overall look? if it were painted...i would buff it. not sure with a flat type finish. it is quite dull now and i would like it more in a sheen type finish. any ideas or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!! Chris
i know buffing wont work. i was saying that is what i would do if it where PAINTED. slddnmatt..man....you have really helped me more times then you know. well, mabe you do know!? every time i ask...your right there with a answer. lol, anyway....i just wanted to tell you thank you!! your right on bro! so wet sand it with 1500 which is super fine i ***ume? then spray on wax/wipe off wax. any special brand? certain type...like silicon or epoxy something or another?? Chris
DP is a primer ,not ment to be a finished product. I know every body uses it cause its quick and cheap but it dos'nt wear well. I'm squrtin a A Pick up now with Flats from Kustom Shop. Very nice! www.tcpglobal.com .Or try "72" cuda black comes pre mixed with the right amount of flatning agent.
ya just wetsand the car with the 1500, i just use turtle wax in the spray bottle works good it will give it a nice sheen.
