1966 chrysler imperial western pickup custom

    Anybody remember a AMT 3in1 car kit of a 1966 CHRYSLER IMPERIAL

    One version was a WESTERN PICKUP CUSTOM. The back of cab was gl*** down to the bed floor. I think it worked well as a pickup. It didn't look as heavy as the full size car can look. I liked building that model.

    Never gave it much though after until one day a pal and I were hitching to Gimli Beacch in 1970, What goes buy it one of these in soft yellow with wood grain inserts with low profile Fifth wheel trailer in matching colors. I thought I was seeing things. Two years later I saw the same car and trailer parked in a driveway in Swan River Manitoba. I often wonder the story behind that combination. Who built it and what was it doing in northern Manitoba. Maybe local dealership owner.

    They would be a very cool pair today!

    Thats the one! The photo I posted didn't look right to me.
    Do you have the kit in your hands? What is the name lower right?

    Yes its another Alexander Brothers "custom". Those boys musta' been pretty busy back then...

    I sold one last year to a guy in vancouver wa and kept one there was three versions and i kept this one of my three .c

    The first kit was the hero tv series kit .I never saw the show but the hero was the real deal .c

    I never heard of the show either. I just thought the model was cool when I wa a kid. Never expected it to be a real car till I saw one. Wonder if any still exists?
