I heard this story like, eighth- hand, but here goes:

Javi had his ridiculous '60 Chevy down at Paso. The car was bright. A bunch of people standing around looking at it, and Mike Ness walks up and starts checking it out. The crowd is hushed. Mike is walking around and around it. Getting closer. Transfixed.

Starts leaning down, looking at the interior, sighting down the decklid. This goes on for a couple of minutes and Javier finally hisses,

"Pssst. Mike. Hey Mike. Tuck in your wallet chain holmes. I don't want you to scratch my car."

True? I dunno, but it would be pretty typical from one of the funniest people I've ever met.

 

When I was a lurker I couldn't stand that guy. Half the time he never made a damn bit of sense and when he did it was off topic. I'm sure Ryan banned him for a good reason.

To stay on topic though, that car is beautiful. Very nice work.

 

Ah shit! I forgot about Scoobie. Man, I loved that truck he had.

I remember seeing Scoobie's truck at paso right after (like, the day after) it was painted. The sucker was off-gassing so strong you could smell it from like 20 feet away.
