Why so much? I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish but I think you'd get piston to head interference unless you have some unusual combo in mind.If you are looking for compression you might be able to take that much out of the head but I'm not entirely positive on that.

Need more info. Why is this a good idea? What are you doing for pistons, rods, pushrods, headbolts? All these no longer fit correctly with the deck -.100".

BTW, the short answer is "Probably not."

    thnx, jack vines

:confused:Hi guys we are trying to build a rather low dollar stroker motor, 250 block,292 crank, sbc rods and 318 pistons, just doing resurch at this point. We are new at this HAGR thing and we like to build different and unusual toys. Oh and we would stud the engine

that seems kind of a bizarre thing to do, since the 250 and 292 have the same bore

Yeah, isn't the 292 pretty much just a stroked 250 anyway?

One big Question is why Build a Low deck 292??? Because what the crank wants to do is try and Push the rods out the side of the block.
But anyway The Low deck (194,230 250s) all have the same Issue and that is the deck height is LOW as it is and the blocks are known to crack right over the water pump.(driver side) So if your plains are to build a 292 Why Not Use the 292 block.
It would & will live MUCH longger and Be Less money in the long run.And another thing
Is you wouldn't be able to use a 250 cam. A cam for 292 is machined to clear the rods. And if I recall right machine work is also need on the 292 crank so it can be used in a low deck/250 block. Tom Langdon used to sell crank & pistons for just over 1000. Not sure if he still does or not. But to me that grand can be put to better use else where.
