    Rob,
Take it from another Rob who tried the Geo Metro route (my opinion): Don't do it. Despite what some folks say, it will never be what you want, it will always feel 'spongy', and it will always make you feel as if you're about to slide into the ass-end of the car in front of you at a sudden stop. Driving in the rain is a death-wish. Plus, the proportioning valve setup is a nightmare to dial-in correctly. I tried it for 6 months on my V-8 Falcon wagon, hated it, and replaced all my brakes with a manual system, using a dual-bowl m/c from a '67 'stang, a stock Grenada prop valve with 11" disc front and drum rear.
I love driving it now! :)

The early 70's Maverick dual pot manual m/c will work.
Bolts right up to the factory holes. I just can't remember which rod to use.
Or if you have to modify the Maverick rod.
With the manual and drum brakes you do not need a proportional valve , with front disc brakes you do.

All you have to do is cut the "button" off the rod they supply with the m/c....round the tip, and it'll be the same as the stock Falcon rod....Yep, the prop valve is a must for disc up front; but, I'm using a drum/drum m/c and it works fine....;)

Well I ordered my replacement floors from AutoKrafters this past Firday and was anxious to get started on cutting out my old floors.Low and behold got an e-mail today stating that these items are on back order and the manufacturer will be making them in about 45-60 days :0 Man I was hoping to get them in a week or so.Might have to move on to the trunk now and start my metal work there and work my way back up.

On another note might be getting a c4 auto this week and did a little reading on here and some people have said that I may need to do a little banging to make it fit in the trans tunnell.Anyone ever have to do that? Also will be thinking about running a 3.73 gear set up in the rear (it's out of a 67 mustang the beefy one with more ribs on the the outer casing).Any ideas on what stall converter to use along with a shift kit?

I had to do more than 'bang' my trans tunnel...the C4 sits a bit higher, so I had to cut a rectangular hole for the shifter mount, and the top of the tranny...:)

Hey guys so im going to be picking up a falcon within the next few days and need your help. Im 6'7 and was wondering what I can do to move back the bench seat? Right now I fit ok but would like to move it back 2 or 3 clicks if I could. someone was saying theres a track swap out I could get from a chevy or something that would allow to seat to move back more. Anyone know what to use? another thing is lowering it. I know you can block the back but should I also remove the leaf spring also? whqat about the front I heard I could use a mustang lowering spring? any idea? I know I could cut a few coils but I kinda want to do things the right way. Any words of wisdom would be awesome. thanks = )

This is a pic I got of the Falcon someone posted earlier when I saw it running at Coronado. Hopefully it will be there again this year.

Here is a pic of my 64. My plan is to restore it to a 60's style drag car.

What a thread :D I would be honored if my 63 Sprint could join in!! This car has been my first 60's Ford, and a ton of fun. I got it in pretty much stock configuration and gave it a bit of attitude w/ AirRide suspension, American Racing wheels and some garage time...

Any suggestions on how high can I go with a stall converter on a c4 2800-3500 ?
Want a application that will not over rev the engine on long distance driving.
The basics are a 260 bored 30 over stock everything else.Rear end will probably be running 3.73 or 3.50 gears.I think 3.73 will be the highest I could run without it reving too high.Just want something with some bite and still be able to drive it to austin etc.

With a basicaly stock engine you only need a stock converter. If you had a cam change and such you might need more converter. The stall speed of the converter has little to no affect on a daily driver with just a gear such as those you mention, in fact a high stall converter will make for some jerky starts on the street.
