So my dad and I ended up with a few donovan parts that we would like to sell to help finance our 392 buildup... I am trying to get a feel for how much I should be asking for this stuff, as there isn't much out there for sale to go by... I think some of the stuff probably has some decent value, but don't know where to start. The four main items that I am trying to sell right now are a set of Donovan 417 heads (used), a set of NOS ****** Zoomie headers to fit 417 heads, a magnesium idler standoff (Donovan), and a cast iron Donovan intake manifold (p/n 1401-A). I am really curious about the intake, because I thought it would be made out of aluminum until I picked the ****er up and realized how heavy it is... We have a couple other items in the pictures below that we may or may not get rid of. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks
Nice parts....look super nice ! Bored & Stroked here on the HAMB should have some answers for you on this hardware -Dale where are you? Rat
I'm not sure about the value on those parts but I would like to know if that intake would fit a 331-392 with factory heads on it. This is the first I have heard of an iron blower intake but there's plenty I don't know.
What is the condition of the seats, guides, and chambers? As far as I know, Donovan only cast those intakes in alum.
Have you tried a small magnet,,it will tell you if it is AE or iron. It looks like aluminum in the pic,,,,it would weigh 50 pounds if it was iron. Cool looking parts! Tommy
Ebay will tell you - isn't this the stuff I saw listed there??? Condition on the heads is a biggie for value there. The fact that they're bare suggests they're in need of some work - how much work is the question... I've seen those Donovan geardives & covers on Ebay alot - should be easy enough to see what those go for - I'm guessing in the 400-600 dollar range for that - depending on condition. No idea on the intake - I am watching your auction out of curiosity. Never heard of an iron one.
Thanks for the replies guys, I did a little more looking at the intake, and it is definitely aluminum! I judged just by picking it up that it seemed pretty heavy so it must be, but we just weighed it at 24 pounds, pretty stout for aluminum.. Anyone see a 1401-A style like this before? The ones I have seen for sale seem to be a higher version... I have listed the heads, intake, and headers on Ebay. We may or may not get rid of the gear drive, idler, and other misc Donovan stuff.. Thanks again! Kyle
