got my new project today a 34 3 window coupe i know i know its fiberglass but my smile is all the same i also bought a windshield frame tonight and plan on making it where it still swings out and also picked up a cowl vent assembly and plans for it is to install it and make it function as well also got a steel dash for it and a few other odds and ends i know it will always be a glass car but im trying to hide it little by little heres a few pics of it sitting on the frame i know it sits too high in the back and that is the first thing that i plan on addressing and getting fixed but i cant wait to get started on it Thanks Ethan
hey thats cool i understand that but im 19 and wanted a coupe and right now a steel coupe is out of the question so this is my alternative but ill keep ya all posted
good point there i lucked out and already had my steel 34 coupe in the family and i had to cut my model a coupe out of the woods myself. oh im 21 btw so i understand where your coming from. good luck again.
a glass car can be still be cool. atleast you wont have rust issues and can focus most of your time and money elsewhere.
Aint nothin wrong with glass! Every Corvette you see is made of glass, as well as many many hot rods. Have fun & build yourself a nice rod.
cool car its going to look good. glass and steel look the same with paint on them. build it enjoy it and drive the hell out of it
Screw the haters, steel is nice but sometimes glass is your only choice. Enjoy your car like it was steel, (I have no idea what that means) Doc.
Most 19 year olds are running around in Hondas........................That's a great car you have. We need more kids interested in this stuff.
My cars glass. I don't care. Unless something falls in my lap, my next car will be glass. How close to Sedalia are you? Have fun. Dean
they sure did i have am having just as much fun with this one as i did when i built my 34 pickup i cant wait to get started and get the progress rolling which will be soon!
yeah the chop is killer thats one reason why i went with this body and the fact that it actually had a firewall instead of the flat firewall
As I use to tell everybody about my glass 32 roadster,, "It might not be real Henry Ford steel but is sure is real fun" I don't have the roadster anymore and I sure miss it,,,If the right glass car comes along in the future I will have another one,,and this is coming from a guy that has 3 steel 32's now! Have fun and build the coupe to make you happy,,and don't worry about anyone else. HRP
Good luck with your build. Fiberglass is fun to work with.I prefer steel.Im building a glass 29. If you need any ideas or some tricks I learned Just Pm me. Doors and decklid fit mostly.
heres an update havent had much time to work on it with school but today i did manage to get the rearend down where it needs to be but now the drive shaft is really really close to the front k memeber so ill have to notch that part and the frame will be done ill keep ya all udated with the progress i made a paper "gas tank" to fill in the void where the tank will go when i can save enough money to order one but its enough to get an idea
WOw, I see flames and "The Missouri Kid" on the door! Looks awesome...keep us posted Fiberglass vs. steel = rash ointment vs. tetanus shot... Either way, have fun with it!
I know we were all ragging on you about a glass car.... but damn. That's a long way from a tupperware street rod. Enough real parts can make it a real hot rod. See, when you get a steel car, it has some soul already in it from what it has experienced.. with this one you get to put all the soul into it! Brian
well done. glass is a good start to practice on. if you want a steel body bad enough, one will come along soon enuff. i own a glass car and dont care what anyone thinks, its mine!
