this is off topic but, i know a lot of you guys probably have vintage friges in your garage. i geek out on***** like this-i just picked this one up for $20
it's a frigidaire by GM (as in general motors) works like a champ, i'm actually de-icing it as we speak. been sitting in the basement of the same house since new.
anyone else have some cool frige pics they'd like to share?

I remember as a kid we kept beer cold the real traditional way. In the creek.

I've been keeping an eye out for an old fridge for years now ... and at $20, for a working model, you got a steal. I'd be cool (haha) with a non-working one for a flammables cabinet, but a working model to keep the beers frosty would be even better.

I found a guy that wanted an old Pepsi machine hauled off. It is from the early 70s. He said the compressor wouldn't run. I got it home and looked at the compressor and it was unplugged. I plugged the compressor in and it runs and cools great. It holds 144 cans of your favorite beverage. It vends out of 6 dispensors. Miller Lite, Bud Lite, Coors Light, Busch Light, Pepsi and Sprite. Not bad for FREE

Just push the coin return, select your drink and PLOP free drinks

  13. Cold Beer ??? Never heard of such a thing !! I have owned this unit since 1977 and it would be true to say that it will put Ice Crystals in Your Beer !! We have to keep the beer on the bottom shelf or it freezes !! Just goes to show you Vintage***** Rules !!! Damn I'm getting thirsty !!! >>>>.

  24. We have an early Frigidaire in the basement, circa 1940. It hasn't been run in a while because it has a small oil leak, but I'm sure it would run if plugged back in.

I know a guy with an International Harvester refrigerator - yup, the same IH that made trucks and tractors. Based on the shape I'd guess early-mid 50's on it.

He also ended up with an old Coke machine I bought - he collects them, I don't have the space - someone had modified it a bit to store who knows what in, but all the parts were there to make it work. I paid $20 for it to buy it where it sat in with the scrap in a junkyard. One of the tall tombstone shaped ones.

Here's my mini fridge I just striped last week. I was wanting a older vintage full size fridge but don't really have the room in my lil' 2 car garage. Oh well this works and should keep my beer happy!!:)
