For you drag racers, if someone wanted to build an early 30's Ford coupe race car with a center-seat/steer configuration, how would you start? Is an altered ch***is the best starting point? Or a custom perimeter style frame?
You are going to have to sit over the drive shaft. So no matter what frame you chose (My car had a perimeter frame) you are going to be pretty high in the cab. That's why i don't have center steer
That makes sense. So seating position and ride height will definitely play a huge role if the car was built this way. This is a configuration that is ran at Bonneville and comparable events still though, right?
Mast Bonneville cars have the driver to the left . It's very hard to get the driver and helmet under the roll cage with the clearance tech wants and center steering. What the advantage to center steering in a coup or roadster is unknown to me.
For drag racing, it'd be equal visibility of the tree in both lanes. Also, I am not small, and the inside of these cars is not big. Sticking me in the middle makes things a little more spacious
