Found the tag on my rear end and it says WGX AF. I am pretty sure its out of a 82 Lincoln with disk brakes. 3.08 open rear end. My question is are they durable enough for a 440 big block? Stock build...nothing outrageous.

    Thanks,
    Hookem

post the entire sequence of numbers. that'll give somebody the info to tell you what you got.

and if it's out of a '82, it should hold 300-350 horses easy on the street.

The entire tag reads as follows:
    WGX AF 2H03
    3 08 7 5 S405A

Agreed. A 7.5" rear is a bit wimpy for a big block.

i think that is what the 7 5 mean... couldn't find it online. but I think I got everthing else right. Plus the tail lights on my car are from a 82 lincoln so It made sense.

I'd look for something a bit stronger for a 440 equipped car. A mopar 8.75" would be *****in, but anything with a ring gear bigger than 8" should be fine.

I got a 8.75 3.23 peg leg complete in my shop now. I was saving for rainy day. I'll have to narrow it though.

I was thinking I may end up just buying a new frame and might as well buy a complete ch***is to begin with. Probably save me time and money in the long run dont you think?
