Ok I get the fuel pump and now there is a loud knock. Either I somehow developed rod knock since I pulled the old pump off or the pump arm in knocking as the cam spins..anyone have any knock noise problems from a fuel pump?

Baas- first make sure you have oil in the engine. It may be possible to remove the pump bolts, leave the lines on, and fire it up. It will run off the carb gas for a long time so you can tell if the noise is gone. Put an oil pan below to catch any oil. Otherwise I have a stethescope at school you can try to pin point the noise. Department meeting at 8
    tomorrow. Good Luck Bill
