I have been working on motor mounts and frame stuff. Nothing fun. I did take the saw to the floor to get ready for a driveline and tunnel. I need to get back on the body before the weather turns. Ray

Hang in there, buddy. If moral support helps, there are a ton of guys out here who'd have been behind you all the way.

When it's ALL DONE, you'll forget how bone-tired you were at times -- I hope. When I'm totally worn out from working at something GOOD, my optimist wife always says, "Yeah, but it's a GOOD kind of tired!"

Hey. So today i was given a nice clean boat gas tank that kinda fits and found a couple dodge motor home seats free too. Worked on the floor bracing and making the rear deck lid fit a little better. Still working on finding a front axle. was going to do a narrow speedway gasser axle but don't want to do discs up front. May narrow up a dodge van a100 front axle????? I think i will be in the under $3000 club. Ray

    Ray-

Just found this thread and followed it up from the beginning. I know its been said before a bunch of times, but really incredible work. You're a metal-working master in my book. Just shows what you can do on your own if you really put yourself into it, lots of guys wouldn't even have tried to do this, just paid someone else to. Not to be down on hot rod shops, but real hot rodding is about doing it yourself on the cheap in your garage, not spending big $ on having someone else do it for you.

My only beef is that was a bitching fire truck!!! But I guess as a firefighter I've got a soft spot for old fire engines. Have to build one myself someday or something. But you've still done it proud, at least its being fixed and not rotting as so many are.

Keep up the good work, its awesome!

FrankinPlymouth, it's starting to seem as though you're gonna be some kinda LEGEND here! You just had a newbie who just saw the WHOLE project, plus a long-time HAMBer praise your work & talents. Deservedly so!

SO, what COLOR are you gonna paint this "poupe" ?

The price for a '36 Dodge pickup cab has tripled since frankinplymouth started this thread in January!................:D.................Man, after seeing this, installing a few patch-panels in my '37 Chevy is gonna seem like...I don't know...just screwin' around! Very inspiring...awesome. (I like that it looks like nothin' else.) Rick

As said on here many times before... That's BADASS! I was one of the ones who doubted you from the start. Sorry 'bout that. You have impressed us all.

    Great job.

Can't wait till you get it to a show somewhere and some dumbass tries to tell you his grandaddy had one just like it... Just wait, it will happen.

I like the tank, but I'm not feel'n that seat, man. Easy for me to say you'd oughtta do, but you could whip up some way cool bomber style seats in about a half an hour with your talent! :D Of course the down side to that is the uninformed will peer into the cab, see the bomber seats and say what a nice rat rod you have there. Man, I hate that...

Not that I'm prejudiced towards them or anything, but mid 30's Mopars have the prettiest tube axle ever made...:D!

Paint it "poupe BROWN" ! Yer killin' me!!!

  28. Originally, I wasn't sure about your choice on the wider body bead but now it is definitely the right look! It says "I'm not trying to look like a '32 or '34 Ford" - it has a very authentic appearance. Great job!

Wish I could just stand around this thing and study it in person just to soak it all up.

"My grandpa build one the same way! Made it out of a 1918 Chalmers or King pickup, I think."

    Yahahahah! Psyche!
