    Feast your eyes...
All aluminum bodied roadster built in 1950 by famed Indy car fabricator Emil Diedt. The car was design and built for radio personality Eddie Anderson, famed African American sidekick of Jack Benny. This car appeared in Motor Trend in April of 1951, but has been missing for decades. It was purchased last year as complete basket case with no motor, and has just been completely restorer at Steve Moal's shop- Amazing!! Cadillac 331 powered, tube ch***is, Maserati brakes mated to a Ford I beam front end- Trick bits everywhere!!! Enjoy the pics- The magazines haven't scooped this car (yet) so its a HAMB exclusive at this point.

Since finding this thread my mind has been replaying scenes from the Jack Benny Show. Some of us OLD guys used to watch that program when it was on black and white TV. Lots of good memories. " OH, Rochester". "Yes Mr. Benny". Still puts a smile on my face.

Pretty nifty. If I had one, I'd do it up like the example from the ad - dark colors and whitewalls.

There was alot of work that went into bringing that back to life, I did my little part while I was working at Moal's this summer. The guy that owns it also has the ferrai powered roadster that was in Street Rodder a bit back, one helluva nice guy. With lots o cars...

Emil Deidt was the man. Take a look at the Lance Reventlow front engined Scarab sometime. I believe he also did the Chaparral I. And yeah, I noticed the C4R in the background. I would have noticed it sooner but I was out in the shop, working. [IMG] Wayno

Just caught this post and noticed the Cunningham right off! The old man bought me a model of that when I was a kid - always loved them.

Good looking car! Did the front fenders start life on a '32 Ford? If I remember correctly Eddie Anderson owned a OFFY Midget team in the 1950's, will have to look for some photos of the cars.
