Not sure if this has been covered before but I just visited Jerry Anolic in Sacramento yesterday. A friend of his advertised on the hamb that he needed an early 50s Cadillac oil pan. I had one and and when I found out wanted it took it to him yesterday. My payment was to sit in his famous 55 T Bird "MOON ROCKET" and take all the pictures I wanted. Jerry's claim to fame is beating the Ala Kart twice for the people's choice award in Oakland in the late 50s. The 50 Cad engine in the boat is the one taken out of the T Bird and goes with the car along with the special four 97s and manifold that was on the car in the 50s The car is for sale and you can talk to Jerry at 916 761 3581 He is asking $150,000 or your house. Whichever you want to give up most.
Saw the car in the sixties in Tampa, Florida, at the Homer Hesterly Armory and then at the Dinner Key Autotorium in Miami. I think he also did some striping, as I was a striper. He, like me, dabbled in show promotion around that time. Hadn't thought about the car in years.
That car is in amazing shape. I can't believe the interior still looks that good, a little cleaning and it'd be ready to go. What's up with the picture of the Ford truck?

I remember reading that it started as a wreck like Starbird's predicta. I also had a 55 T bird at the time in Florida, and really thought this Bird was wild.
Thats all I have to do?!! Hell yeah!! LOL! I just found a sample of the original Metallic Blue paint underneath the cycle fenders that came off the car.I think I'm going to paint it blue soon..
Would be great to see restored, but could you ever get the true bicentennial colors correct... if you see something from that era... the colors just take you back... Car looks awesome...
Wow I thought this thread was dead long ago. Priced really high because he needs the $ "four divorces and as many house mortgages " and has seen other old rods sell for much more. He is under the impression it is on the same level as the Ala Kart. I'd like to see someone with some bucks make a deal with him, buy it and restore it.
He can't need the money that bad if in fact it's been on the market for what 3 months and it's still for sale. I give him credit for it being a driver when built and the fact that he did drive it all across the country in all conditions BUT why in the world would he let it get to the condition it's in today. Too bad he didn't lend it to a museum like Starbirds for all to enjoy while the car stayed in prestine condition.
I saw the car in person almost 50 years ago in Tampa and then Miami, when I lived in Florida. It was wild even for that time period. Didn't get along too well with Mr. Anolik, he was quite into himself, but we were young.I was striping in the Miami show and he really tried to rattle me, as he was a striper ,too.
