Hello Everybody, I've got to say thanks for all of the great resources here that we have been using this summer during our 1947 Buick Roadmaster "rescue" project. We have been saving this car, which has been sitting since 1971 from the crusher / being parted out. I bought this car as summer vacation started for the kids. We have been working on this car just about every day for the past eighty days now. I thought that this would be a good learning experience for our teenage boys. When I towed the car home she was in very, very tough shape. I have a picture posted to give some idea for anyone interested. Every single panel on the car was smashed, bashed, rusted etc. My 7 year old daughter said it was ugly because it had "too many colors" with rust being the dominant color. She likes it much better now as it's all one color - even if it's hot rod black primer. It's been a family project with all nine kids helping out, even the kids in the 7 - 2 range. Even my wife has helped out as well as folks in our local and not so local community. We finally have the body pretty much patched up, as well as a new interior with lots of scavenged / purchased parts, as their were many items that went "missing" over the years. The message board has been a great resource in solving the old cars many, many issues. At this point in time we are entering somewhat uncharted territory as we must pull / rebuild the engine. I'm determined to keep the old Fireball eight in her. Thanks in advance for further asistance here. I have some solutions /ideas to post here as well. Don in Minnesota
