Yeah, it pales in comparison to the HAMB drags but albuquerque Road Rockets together with our local drag strip put on a hot rod drag night. Traditionally in the past maybe 20 cars would show up for hot rod races but this time around 120 showed up we're lucky here to get 60 cars at anything!), over 80 went true tech and made p***es. Had a ball, best car event I've been to here in a long time! I even made a few p***es with the Ranchero, patheticly slow but a blast! Sucessfull enough the track wants to make it a regular event, guess it's time I start thinking about building something really worth racing!
The fastest car down the track, full steel bodied, stock framed and street driven 55. 9.90 @ 137 mph, awsome car!
Nice! Plus, sounds like you got over half to p*** tech to want to make runs, that's even better. And to have the staff want you back is even better, smart for them.
this was a truly awesome event, e****ially for albuquerque. great people great cars. i made a few runs myself. ran a 17 flat @86mph. stock 350/350 trans original 411 rear end. not too shabby. still it didnt matter how fast i went was just a blast. wish i coulda raced you metalman, i think your the only one i could have beaten, haha. was good to see you.
yea i guess the rumor was that this place was going to get shut down, lets do all we can so it does not. it would be great if this was a monthly event at least.

Just wanted to bring this back up to the top to remind everyone that the next Hot Rod Rumble at the Albuquerque drag strip is coming up this saturday! IIRC Its from like 10am-4pm. I have nothing to contribute to the event carwise, but I'll sure as hell be out there with the camera checking out all of the cool cars and trucks! Hope it turns out as good as the first one.. (that I missed....)
