Slot cars are definitely toys; some of the coolest toys ever.

My dad and I collect hot wheels and I have kept them from the first ones I got in 1969.I have found some that I had"customized" with krylon paint tha would be worth a couple of hundred bucks but that early paint experience is priceless. We got some tonkas and stuff also but not much.

  16. Along with some smaller plastic cars like I played with back in the 1950s,
I also like other period "stuff". Saved some engines plus some cars that
Dad had in the 50's on a big model railroad layout in our basement.

When I was a kid back in 1958 - they came out with the AMT model
customizing kits. The last pic shows my collection back then....most
of which I gave away in my college days, thinking I don't need
    these any more.

Nice stuff everyone!! Jeez, I need to get a bigger house so I can get all of my stuff out of the garage and put it back on display shelves!!! Having two young kids now sort of took that away for awhile!!

Mine are early toy race cars and hot rods -- tin, iron, steel, wood, die-cast, gas engined mites. Here are a few, but there are hundreds more:

I love hot rod toys and Structo trucks.
Hot Wheels and whatever else I find that is auto related.

shotgun is spring loaded. it will definitly put your eye out if you take the suction cup off the dart. pistols have caps, darts, or just click.

    Hey,

The truck pictured was made by Tru-Scale/Carter Machine Company.

The one in the picture looks like a Tru-Scale "B" Series 10 wheel Innternational Dump Truck circa 1959.

Tru-Scale started with its' line of John Deere & International Harvester tractors and implements, and moved into doing International Harvester trucks from the 50s & 60s. Tru-Scale sold out to ERTL in the 70s.
Tru-Scale pieces always bring good money if they're in good condition!

    Hey,

Wow! 49ratfink, one of the best collections of Marx and Wyandotte 30s & 40s pressed steel I've seen in a whyle! The LaSalle with the trailer, the "Touring" and the 30s Art Deco pieces are killer!

Anyone out there have a Turner "Lincoln" or a picture of one? these toy cars were built in the 20s, were about 26'' long and looked like a '26-'27 Lincoln Sedan automobile?

    Hey Mazooma,

Love that "Tin Indian"! Those were originally made in post-war Japan. My buddy had one as a kid, sad to say I beleve it got "taken out" in the ''demo derby" we had in those days for all toys marked "Made In Japan"!
I see the tooling for that toy got sold to India, as I bought on at the Long Beach Swap Meet 15+years back.
    Still a neat toy!
