Hello all! I am Lee from Milledgeville, Ga. You all were recommended by a friend at work who is also in this forum. I have gotten really interested in restoring old vehicles. One of my dream vehichles is a 1956 Chevy C-10 truck. I have found one that all I would be able to use would be the body. There is no motor, ******, steering column, pedals, etc. Also the frame is bent so I would have to find another frame. The body is in pretty good shape with surface rust but no dents other than the driver door. My question is....How much do you all think this truck is worth to buy? I hope to aquire one soon. Are there any out there? Looking for solid body. Thanks!
Hey airplaneguy, welcome to the Hamb. The old truck is probably worth as little as you can get it for. What I mean by that is, what is it worth to you? People ask this question every week here, and the guys try to help out, but the bottom line is up to you. I wouldn't pay more than $500 to $800 for the truck if it were me.. Hope that helps you and good luck, happy hunting.
Thanks for the info 343w That helps alot! That's about the price range I was thinking of. Thanks to everyone else as well for the welcome! I'm glad to be a part of the H.A.M.B.!
Welcome From Dallas Ga. I am working on a 55.2 now.I will have the front and rear axles and steering column out of my driver soon I hope If I can help you let me know.
A lot of the "what's it worth" question depends on multiple factors. A biggie is how much major rust does it have? The '55-'59 cabs were prone to rust out in the step area, floor pans, and rear cab corners. Used to have a second series '55. And of course the big back window cab (***uming the gl*** is there and in good condition) is worth more than the standard small back window.
