Original Patinas truck roof is the one, but I had to just play with it a little more - added some extra depth after the B pillars to give more of a coupe look and then did a slightly chopped and raked version just to see what it´d look like.

James D's second pic nailed it. It looks factory and if the gentle slope of the cab matches the tailgate slope then it is the winner. This is going to be a cool project to watch.

Ummmm ..... not my take on the pic.

She seems to have "that" look.

I know if it was my gal with that stance and expression, I'd be havin' hell to pay shortly!

Neat Caddy (but aren't they all!)

Glad you posted this thread, it jogged my memory. Saw a similar rig, or possibly a flower car, while out cruising backroads. Need to pay another visit and see what the status is.

Fun Hot Wheels addition. I've already cut, spliced, body worked, painted, cleared, ***embled, and detailed a number of them before building decks. Here is a shot taking a break from glue fumes:

Short wheelbase didn't look right. :p

And if you're willing to do that much work to the roof, a shortened coupe lid would indeed look good.

it almost looks like the rear window was from a mid to late 50's car, upside-down...check it against a chevy backlite

Ladies and Gentlemen let me tell you a little story... As most of you have read I and a friend have recently purchased the vehicle above... this is not about that...

This is about a gentleman that answered a request I had for transporting this vehicle... He had stated that he was going from Houston To Kalamazoo, and may have room for a transport. By the time I got to him his load was full. Now we all know what it's like to prepare for a trip. Lot of work envolved and not much time to spare.

I advised that I appreciated his response and was sorry that I was to late to take advantage of this. I expressed that where the vehicle was being stored by a friend was going up for sale and he wanted it moved... I would go on to other transporters to see what they would charge...

This gentleman offered to go get the vehicle and store it at his place until other arrangements could be made. Not only that, he offered to move things in his shop to keep it indoors... This man does not know me from Adam... This is pure and simple, automotive comraderee(sp?)... Works been tough and it's been about 3 weeks now... He contacts me weekly to ***ure me the car is in good hands....

When I asked recently what I would owe him for this, he said, he always wanted a chance to Pay It Forward... Well sir, you certainly have... One day, some how, I hope to be able to repay have of what you have given over the past month to me... Ease of Mind...

And gang don't worry, he will be compensated by myself as well as his final Judge in the end...

Ladies & Gentleman, join me in Thanking... Ed the "last g-man" from south Texas....

Stumbled across a '50 Dodge Wayfarer business coupe locally which got me thinking... Might be breaking the kustom rule of only using newer parts but a like '49/50 Dodge/Plymouth roof on a '49-'53 would be another solution and not look so out of place:

Would take some shortening ahead of the B pillar as this roof is longer. Gives a bit more cabin space without compromising the bed size horribly.

James D's PS still reigns supreme. This one requires less metal m***age. ;)
