Ok motorheads, anyone here ever started stripping down a car and found a really really REALLY stupid repair? I need some participation on my webpage; if you have a really stupid repair, send me the pics and a description and post it on my site. The URL is: http://www.restorationmagik.com/ and click on the stupid repair link. I also have a featured project that I'll be following through to completion...a really bad off 72 Challenger. Check it out...comments on the site would be appreciated too, fellas. Thanks.

Ah NOW I got it; thank god for you, choprod. Well, I'm probably already gonna burn in hell, and after I do the intro I know damn well there will be no mercy, but what the heck I'll do it anyway. Ok guys, I'm wincing already; but I'm pretty thickskinned so here goes. My name is Lisa (GASP! OMG it's a CHICK!!!!) and I've been doing classic restoring for a couple years now...got my automotive start in the Marine Corps where they more or less taught me why the car goes vroom vroom and disabused me of the notion that there are chinchillas on a wheel inside the engine making all the stuff turn. Fact is, I just like doing this...it's fun and I get paid to do it, so I consider myself pretty damn lucky being in the business. Right now I'm up to my elbows in that 1972 Challenger that is featured on the site, as well as a 73 Trans Am, a 65 Stang, a 68 stang, a 70 chevelle ss, a 70 Skylark and a 58 Studebaker. What a load! Anyway, it's nice to find this board...with my smart mouth I should fit right in, regardless of the fact that my boobs get in the way when I'm trying to sandblast (hah, WHAT boobs?) Just thought I'd beat y'all to it [IMG] Ok, let me put on my body armor here...

A friend of mine i went to high school with bought a '67 lemans about 10 years ago. He paid 1000 bux for it and thought it was a smokin' deal..
He called us all up to come over a check out his new 'project'.
We got there and proceded to really dig in and check it out..
We found the worst frame repair i have EVER seen! Right behind the front wheel's, where the frame bends out to the rocker panel area, it was rotted so bad it was junk.
But, rather than tell my friend about it, he literally filled the frame with expansion foam, ground down, and undercoated to look all nice and clean.

I wish i took pics of it, but felt it wasn't the nicest thing to do seeing he felt bad enough.
He did end up parting it out and getting more than he paid for it..so all wasn't lost.

Oh yeah, welcome to the HAMB Lisa..

I brought home a '38 Chev that had concrete poured into the rockers as a rust repair. Welcome to the HAMB. Post some pics of the cars,it's the best way to get accepted here.

Yes Nimrod, I saw that post; if I could figure out a way to add a shopping cart and a paypal form, I'd post to that thread but...oh well. Tony and Armstrong, thanks for the welcome and the stupid repairs; yeah, both of those are pretty darn bad...I have a pic posted on the stupid page showing tinfoil stuffed in the rear framerail; jeez, I think that's more structural than Great Stuff foam lol. When I get a minute to breathe I'll post the pics here too; working on a dinosaur puter here so it takes forever..probably be easier for everyone to take a gander at the pages I already have em on, but I'll try to do pics here too. Hey guys, mind if I share those two stories on the site? Doesn't matter too much if there aren't pics; they are still funny. Thanks again for the kind words, guys.

What does any of this have to do with traditional hot rodding. I suggest you find another board 'cause this ain't gonna fly here. Where is Rashy when we need him.

  14. a few years back a friend of mine purchased a 52 chevy. After looking through it getting ready to tear it down, i noticed that someone had previously filled the rear end with asphalt behind the panels.
