Say, isn't there an interview with some Lucky Bastards Friday night on KFAI radio in Minneapolis? Sometime between 9 and 10:30PM Central on Radio Rumpus Room. You can stream it live at www.kfai.org in either real audio or MP3.

You Bet! We will have our Stainless Steel Muffler on display, and a few sets of mufflers for sale. 10% Discount at the show, or if you buy in the month of Sept. Hopefully, we receive our shipment of Porter Muffler Can Coolers tomorrow, so we have those for the show too. I can't wait to see what Justin did for the Show T-Shirt!!

We are strongly thinking about it. We described the car to one of your members and he said it would be ok to bring in. If so, expect a supercharged 8BA flathead blue suede 53' stude to announce its presence in mid morning , fresh back from the salt, with 2 more land speed records under its belt....

I'm pretty sure I recognize that Twin Reverb...

I'm looking forward to seeing Lusurfer on Sunday. That's God's day, you know.

HA HA HA! That is awesome! That is why we are having them play that day! I can't think of any other day to have a Satanic Surf Band play a show!

We went thru rain storms on the way back, the thing sat in my driveway thru that really bad storm here in Minnetonka, and then I power washed it. We took it off the trailer to retorque the head (the SCTA officials make you pull the head to check displacement) and a couple chunks of salt as big as my fist dropped out from who knows where......Maybe I'll bring some along (besides what's hidden in the frame). When we start it, the noise may knock some more loose.....

One year I brought back a bag of salt and put little chunks of it in some tiny crack vial bottles I got at Axeman. A friend who's a public defender told me if the cops saw that I would spend the night in jail before they figured it out.

Good interview, guys. If anyone wants to hear what they missed, it is archived in RealAudio and MP3 right here:
    http://www.kfai.org/archive/09/4/2009

Click any one of the "Listen Now" buttons and accept the terms and conditions (that you won't permanently save the audio stream) the click on the button next to Radio Rumpus Room for either MP3 or RealAudio.

As a plug in general for KFAI, they do have a lot of interesting programs and all the locally produced ones are available for 2 weeks after broadcast.

  20. Alex is awesome! His old band with his brother, The Mojo Spleens, kicked some serious ass too.

Thanks for bringing it out. I think it was the highlight of the show for me. I'd never seen a Bonneville car up close in person before. It also made quite an entrance! It was neat to hear some of the details about it and to listen to someof the history. I also started to checkout your website (S2S) and will have to read the rest soon.

So, Turbostude- are you the gentleman with the beard that was fielding most of the questions about it?
And Reverborama- are you the one that drove it in?

I'm the guy with the beard who talks too much, and the tall guy with the brown "vintage hammer" shirt (hail Imortals!) is Reverborama. The younger guy who drove it in is CT, our newest team member, who came out to the salt with us. We just had to let him drive in.....he was so stoked!

It's really hard to wipe a smile off my face when I'm in that car. It was an honor to drive it in.

Greg, it was great to meet you and hear the details behind the story! My twin boys really got a kick out of it when you invited them to sit behind the wheel, especially when compared to the go kart they built this summer with grandpa!
Best of luck with your future pursuits of speed!

You never know what you've started when you encourage young minds.....
Great pics. Maybe we could use them on the Salt2Salt website?
    Best Regards
