This is sitting in Montana,It will be here in South Omaha in a few weeks. Maybe a Cadillac treatment.Sorry about pictures of pictures, it's all I have.
If you p*** by the Black Hills to get it stop by and say hi, I can throw a rock and hit the truckstop from the shop.
Your pictures sparked a memory in my feeble mind that has stuck with me for 50 years. We were watching one of those GM promotional films about automotive design in shop cl*** back in the 50s. Part of the movie discussed truck design. The first design showed "Dagmars" ( Dagmar was a star of some kind with big ***s) just like your drawing. Then through animation the bullet point inverted into the GMC bumperettes actually used on the truck. The announcer said something about the inverted bullets being more truck like. I was into auto design back then and loved the movie. It will probably show up on Utube. If it does I hope it gets posted here. The similarities in your design and the GM movie are amazing. Neat truck you got there.
The right combo of mounts and an early Pontiac 389 will bolt right in there. Just for what it's worth.
Come on now, I don't come to Omaha and cherry pick farm trucks from your stash. Nothing to see here in Montana, just move along. Nice truck, you know what GMC stands for? Get More Cash
I have a 55 with a factory V8 287 pontiac engine. The 59 and earlier pontiac engines wil bolt in. Even if he has a six thats good too. Those GMC engines where larger and heavier built than a chev engine. OldWolf
I know you will have an inline in right? Just wouldnt be you if it didnt. I too am thinking of doing the caddy treatment to my 54 GMC, just have to find a bumper that is affordable.
I think I still have some of the grille surround heavy metal and a front bumper not rusted, came from west coast, sold my 55 GMC couple of years ago and this stuff was extra.
I do love me some 6's. Going to have to do some soul searching. I've been thinking a 389 tri power might be fun for a grocery getter.Hmmmm where to find a 52 cadillac with bumpers that are affordable? Hmmmm.....
here is picture of my 55 GMC. The little 287 runs just fine. HoweverI have been on the lookout for a 59 389 engine I already have a tri power intake to put on it. My truck has a std trans but most V8 trucks had a auto trans. OldWolf
